They are two beautiful cars. One larger than the other. One is a little more upscale, but both are classically handsome. High-tech features throughout and a pleasing ride. We're talking about the 2019 Subaru Impreza and the 2020 Subaru Legacy from Romain Subaru in Evansville. You would be thrilled to be driving either one of these cars. But which one is right for you?

There are a few differences between these two. The most notable from the start is the size. The Subaru Legacy is considered a midsize car while the Subaru Impreza is in the compact car category. The Legacy provides much more legroom for passengers from the front to the back. With 39.5 inches of room in the back and 42.8 in the front, there is plenty of room to stretch out. The Impreza gives a good amount as well, but offers slightly less with 36.5 inches in back and 43.1 in the front.

Where the Subaru Impreza shines, is in the available cargo space. You can get the Impreza in either a sedan or hatchback model. When opting for the hatchback, you'll 20.8 cubic feet of storage space behind the rear row. Lay down that back row and you'll find 55.3 cubic feet to stow anything you have. The Legacy provides 15.1 cubic feet of storage.

It should come as no surprise, when you are dealing with a Subaru, you will get some of the best standard infotainment features available. The Starlink system is utilized in both the Impreza and Legacy. The Impreza starts with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, while a slightly larger seven-inch screen is found in the Legacy. The Legacy also gives you standard satellite radio and, addition to Apple, Android, Bluetooth. The lmpreza adds the Aha smartphone app. If you choose the larger, eight-inch touchscreen for the Subaru Impreza, you'll get the built-in navigation, so you can travel from Owensboro to Princeton with confidence.

For a more muscular driving experience, the Subaru Legacy is where it's at. Feel the power of the 182-horsepower four-cylinder, or a turbocharged 260-horsepower four-cylinder. Both are punchy engines that command the road and handle each turn through Princeton with ease. The Subaru Impreza provides a more fuel-efficient 152-horsepower four-cylinder. You'll enjoy the EPA estimated 28 mpg when cruising around Evansville and incredible 38 mpg on the highway from Owensville to Henderson. Those are better numbers than the Legacy will provide.

The choice is up to you. Do you value size and performance? Go with the Subaru Legacy. Is cargo room and fuel efficiency important to you? Then take a look at the Subaru Impreza. You'll find both provide an enjoyable driving experience. No matter which you choose, you can't make a wrong decision.
