Romain Subaru Dog Day Downtown - Alyssa G

On Saturday, September 11th Romain Subaru came out to Downtown Evansville for the Dog Day Downtown event that helped benefit It Takes A Village, a local no-kill shelter. Romain Subaru was there giving away free dog tags to the owners while also taking the time to love on each and every dog that came up to the tent! The weather was perfect for this outdoor event. They even had a special proclamation from the Evansville mayor for the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the 300 dogs who assisted in the search and rescue teams following the attacks.

Subaru Loves Pets October Adoption Event - Tangila S

It Takes A Village was delighted to partner with Romain Subaru in October 2020 for a Subaru Loves Pets Adoption Event. It Takes A Village Rescue (ITV) is a community-centered rescue formed in 2010 to help homeless animals in Vanderburgh County and beyond. ITV opened a no-kill rescue center in Evansville in the summer of 2012. In October 2019, ITV expanded our operations to include Spencer County, Indiana, opening a second no-kill rescue center in a county that did not have an operating facility to help homeless animals. Since we formed, ITV has rescued and found forever homes for over 6000 homeless animals. During the global pandemic of 2020, homeless animals have been particularly hard hit with increased surrenders to animals shelters and rescues. ITV worked with Romain Subaru to create an adoption event to waive adoption fees on harder to place pets. Romain Subaru hosted ITV on October 17, 2020 with a Subaru Loves Pets kick-off event at the dealership. For the rest of October, we promoted homeless animals through social media and at the ITV Rescue Centers. After the 2-week promotion, we were delighted to see 31 homeless animals find forever homes. Of those animals, 14 were senior animals who are often harder to place in homes. ITV is so grateful to Romain Subaru for supporting homeless animals and for their continued support of our rescue! Thank you Romain Subaru!

Romain Subaru Shares Love to Patients - Shelia G

On June 15th, Romain Subaru and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society celebrated the 2nd Annual Subaru Loves to Care Program at St. Vincent Hospital. Five year old leukemia survivor, Avery Murphy, joined the St. Vincent Hospital staff along with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Campaign Director, Shelia Gustafson, for this recognition in the Prayer Garden. This national partnership between LLS and Subaru provides blankets and art kits to patients who are being treated for cancer. Romain Subaru provided 80 blankets, 20 art kits and Care Cards signed by Subaru customers to give to local patients. When Avery and her mother saw all the Care Cards, they were thrilled. A few years ago when Avery was going through treatment, she received a bag of Valentines Day cards on a day she was getting her chemo infusion. Her mother said the 1.5 hour wait went by very quickly that day because Avery spent the whole time reading the cards. Even though Avery is out of treatment she still has the bag of cards and reads them periodically. Avery and her mother know that the Care Cards will be cherished by the patients who will receive them.
